About The Position

The Canton Local School District is seeking an Educational Paraprofessional to work 5.5 hours per day on a temporary basis. This role reports to the Principal or Transportation Supervisor. The paraprofessional will be responsible for monitoring student learning and behavior, motivating special needs children, and supporting district beliefs. The position requires a strong work ethic, patience, flexibility, and an optimistic attitude.

Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Obtain an acceptable performance on qualification test (includes reading, math and computer skills)
• Obtain an Education Aide Permit with ESEA Endorsement through ODE
• Ability to take directions and work collaboratively with staff members
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic
• Good record of punctuality and demonstrate building average attendance
• Sound belief that ALL children can and will learn and evidence of emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved
• Acceptable background check and complete all required personnel records
• Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves
