About The Position

GTSC and its Global Sciences and Technology (GST) business unit seeks an Educational Outreach Specialist (III) who will lead the operations of the NOAA Outreach Center. This role involves maintaining over 100 collections of major education and outreach products from across the Agency, designing and developing an estimated 3 to 5 new education and outreach products annually to fill gaps and respond to audience needs, disseminating these products to educators, students, and the public, responding to general public inquiries about NOAA and NOAA education, and providing guidance and expert advice to NOAA staff engaged in public outreach activities. This position is contingent upon contract being awarded.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in education, communications, or related fields.
Minimum of 4 to 6 years of work experience.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and support NOAA education participation in education conferences, meetings, workshops, civic events, etc. Coordinate with internal and external partners as needed.
Designs and develops educational outreach materials and publications.
Assists with the planning and development of educational exhibits for NOAA booths in educational conferences.
Assists with the development and coordination of products and services designed to promote education programs and efforts of NOAA's Office of Education and the NOAA education community.
Coordinates with educational outreach professionals across NOAA to ensure consistency of approach and share best practices and lessons learned.
