About The Position

Educational Instructor – Onsite Agency Human Systems Integration Directorate United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine 2510 5th St., Building 840, Area B Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433-7913. This role involves providing instructional support for multiple courses, developing and delivering professional development training, and collaborating with course directors and other personnel to ensure the integrity and improvement of the education program. The instructor will also mentor students, maintain subject matter knowledge, and comply with institutional policies.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in education or related fields.
  • Three (3) years of teaching experience and/or experience providing educational support for a formal education program or related area.
  • Experience as a qualified Department of War (DoW) instructor or possess the ability to attain qualification (Basic Instructor Course and formal internship).
  • Experience in Office 365 tools (ex. MS Windows, MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher, MS Teams, MS Planner, MS Power BI, and Microsoft Forms).
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Tier 1 Background Investigation – National Agency Check with Law and Credit Check, and fingerprints. (Standard Form 85).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in AF Medical Service leadership at the flight level or above and/or along with clinical experience.
  • Be a qualified Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) instructor or have previous CCAF instructor experience with the ability to qualify as a returning instructor.
  • Master Instructor certification and/or 250+ teaching hours.
  • Experience, knowledge, and understanding of applicable Air Force, military, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work with course directors, other instructors, and Office of the Dean personnel to provide instructional support for multiple courses.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills related to course material delivery requirements and work with the course director(s) to ensure compliance.
  • May be assigned as Course Director and perform duties as outlined in local guidance and policy.
  • Maintain course material delivery requirements in an online environment.
  • Develop, design, and deliver professional development training as required by government representatives.
  • Instruct and participate in instructional development processes in courses for the Office of the Dean, to include precepting or assisting other instructors as required by government representatives.
  • Provide education and training, professional development for the full spectrum of USAFSAM instructors.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other instructors or sections on day-to-day tasks such as preparing the room for instruction, testing equipment for proper operation, and serving as a student mentor/coach during class.
  • Maintain subject matter knowledge of course material.
  • Must attain and maintain instructor qualifications as required by the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), USAFSAM policy, or other accrediting body as required by the government representative.
  • Comply with all institutional, accrediting, and regulatory agency policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in training and meetings as directed by the course director or government representative.
  • Participate in and support other projects within skill sets; projects may include writing continuity documents, attending or presenting at local eLearning symposiums, defining capabilities for potential customers, collaborating with local colleges or multi-service partners, and supporting other special projects.
  • Work collaboratively on a team with course director(s) and others, to ensure the integrity of the education program.
  • Advise the course director, assist in responding to and resolving student issues, and elevate program administrative problems.
  • Provide End of Course (EOC) survey feedback and actions that shall be utilized for course improvement.
  • Assist with attendance, class roster, completion, and/or coordination of course graduation activities.
  • Assist in the development of student resource materials, including locally developed and externally provided.
  • Conduct faculty evaluations and assist with student and instructor testing.
  • Provide academic assistance to struggling students in support of the Academic Excellence Program.
  • Assist the curriculum development manager with course development and updates as needed.
  • Support the Faculty Development program by reviewing, updating, and maintaining USAFSAM instructor qualifications as directed by the government representative.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, ability to achieve set goals; initiative in performing assigned tasks; ability to follow up complex projects with influence, and integrity; and ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel within and outside of the organization.
  • Assist with other education and training mission-related duties as assigned within the Office of the Dean, as directed by the government representative.
