The Educational Diagnostician (Special Ed.) implements the Pupil Appraisal process for identifying suspected exceptional children and re-evaluating identified exceptional children. This role is responsible for intervening upon referral, participating in formal and informal educational assessments, conducting classroom observations, summarizing educational assessments, and recommending whether to conduct a diagnostic assessment. The diagnostician will also work with classroom teachers on diagnostic/prescriptive programs, maintain appropriate records, and foster open communication with school personnel, staff, and the community. This position requires adherence to State and School Board policies and may involve other duties assigned by the Director of Special Education.
