The Educational Diagnostician is responsible for implementing the assessment and evaluation process for student referrals, selecting and administering formal and informal assessments to determine eligibility for special education services, and collecting relevant data. This role involves participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committees to interpret assessment data, determine appropriate placement, and develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs). The diagnostician will also provide staff development training, assist teachers with IEP implementation, and consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and other relevant individuals. Program management duties include developing and maintaining relationships, assisting in the selection of assessment materials, evaluating the assessment program, and maintaining records. Compliance with federal, state, and local policies regarding assessment, placement, and planning for special education services is required. The position also involves participating in professional development to enhance job-related skills and maintaining positive communication with supervisors, colleagues, students, and parents.
