The role involves conducting comprehensive bilingual evaluations for students across the district, from kindergarten to 12th grade. The diagnostician will assess cognitive abilities, academic achievement, language development, learning disabilities, and processing disorders, differentiating language acquisition needs from learning disabilities. Responsibilities include administering and interpreting standardized assessments, preparing Full and Individual Evaluation (FIE) reports, determining eligibility for special education services, and participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings. The position also involves assisting with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), communicating findings to families in their native language, and collaborating with various school staff and administrators. Maintaining compliance with IDEA, TEA regulations, and district policies, as well as keeping accurate records and providing instructional recommendations, are key aspects of this role. Support for campus staff in interpreting assessment data and implementing interventions is also expected.
