About The Position

Eagle Ridge Academy is seeking a part-time Educational Assistant to supervise students during lunch and recess. This role is approximately 2 hours per school day and requires an individual passionate about the mission and philosophy of Eagle Ridge Academy, with the ability to develop positive rapport with students, parents, and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of learning styles and the skill to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of elementary-aged children.

Requirements

Well-spoken individual with a gift for elementary school teaching.
Passionate about the mission, philosophy, and pedagogy of Eagle Ridge Academy.
Ability to develop positive rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Knowledge of particular learning styles.
Skill to meet the academic, social, and emotional growth needs of elementary-aged children.

Responsibilities

Supervise students during lunch and recess daily.
Assist with educational activities in the classroom.
Prepare instructional aids, games, and bulletin boards, as needed for classroom teacher on occasion.
Provide teacher with feedback on student progress.
Perform various administrative tasks within the classroom on occasion.
Reinforce and support students in upholding behavioral expectations.
Support academic and social growth of students in individual or small group settings.
Respond to student situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
Administer tests, homework, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting students in the classroom.
Collaborate with teacher(s) or other staff as assigned for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues.
Other duties, as assigned.
