About The Position

This role supports the delivery of the educational program to students at Chestnut Hill Elementary School, working 5.5 hours per day for 181 days per school year during the 2026-2027 school year.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years post-secondary (48 credits), Associate Degree, or passing score on the Title I Paraprofessional Assessment test administered through I.U.5.
  • Computer and office skills preferred.
  • Good communication skills required.
  • Ability to work with elementary age students in a supportive and guiding capacity.
  • Knowledge of elementary school office, attendance, and library preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new software or equipment as needed.
  • Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the teacher with non-instructional duties and in guiding and supervising students.
  • Work with individual or small groups of students, reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher.
  • Support students completing classroom assignments, homework, and projects.
  • Assist teacher with routine detailed or clerical duties.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as required.
  • Observe and manage behavior of students in the classroom, lunch areas, playground, and bus loading according to approved procedures.
  • Follow established procedures to ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Monitor student behavior in support of the school’s Title 1 plan.
  • Report progress regarding student performance and behavior.
  • Provide support in the school office with various duties.
  • Support school operations by assisting with front door security, phones, mailings, filing, attendance, document preparation, library and/or computer data entry.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of school activities.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or their designee.
