Westerkirk Capital is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and experienced Educational Assistant (EA) to provide dedicated one-on-one support to a young child with additional support and developmental needs. This is a private employment position that offers the opportunity to work closely with primarily one child in a well-supported environment. Above all, this role exists to support the child’s safety, wellbeing, and development. The ideal candidate is a certified Educational Assistant in BC with experience supporting children with ASD. In addition to providing educational support at school, you will also have a role in the family home, supporting home-based routines for the primary child in care, as well as assisting the household team with care for both children in the family. This is a full-time, one-year term position reporting to the Household Manager and the family principals, with the possibility of extension. It is well suited to someone seeking stability and consistency, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child’s development. The family is looking for a dedicated professional who can build a trusting relationship with their child, understand her personality, and support her in reaching her full potential.
