This is a part-time position working 6.5 hours per day on a 192-day school year schedule, Monday through Friday. The role assists teachers in planning and implementing educational and behavioral management programs for students with developmental or other learning disabilities. Responsibilities include providing instructional assistance, monitoring student progress, preparing classroom materials, supervising students, and maintaining records. The position requires adherence to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and may involve tutoring, composing assignments, and maintaining classroom order. The assistant also helps guide students in social situations, instructs in health habits, orients substitute teachers, and may assist with parent-teacher conferences and budgeting for supplies. Supervision during physical education and assistance with school bus boarding are also potential duties. Maintaining regular attendance is essential.
