About The Position

This position involves conducting site visits, assisting producers in selecting property-specific Best Management Practices (BMPs), identifying cost-share opportunities, and providing training on mandatory nutrient and irrigation record-keeping. The role includes planning and presenting at workshops, agricultural field days, and agency meetings, educating both producers and partner agency staff on water policy and regulatory rules. Additionally, the position involves collaborating with Extension agents to develop region-specific educational programs, promoting economically sound agricultural recommendations, and identifying local farms for research and demonstration projects. Administrative duties include purchasing necessary supplies and materials for educational programs in accordance with UF guidelines and policies. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Regular interactions with the public, agricultural producers and professionals, UF/IFAS faculty and staff, and local officials.
  • Oral presentations to clients.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and speaking at workshops, agricultural field days, and agency meetings (NRCS, Water Management Districts); educating both producers and partner agency staff on water policy and regulatory rules.
  • Working with Extension agents to design region-specific educational programs, promoting economically sound agricultural recommendations, and identifying local farms for research and demonstration projects.
  • Administrative duties, including purchasing needed supplies and materials for educational programs, following UF guidelines and policies regarding purchasing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
