About The Position

The Education Specialist role is within the 85262 South Piedmont Area Health Education Center (AHEC) - Academic Interprofessional Continuing Education department. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional nights and weekends required. The position is responsible for developing and presenting workshops to meet the educational needs of healthcare professionals in the Charlotte AHEC region. This includes analyzing participant evaluations, writing measurable program objectives, designing and administering evaluations, and ensuring workshops meet nationally recognized criteria for continuing education credit. The role also involves researching grant opportunities, assisting with grant proposals, collaborating on quality initiatives and grants, and supporting AHEC Library Initiatives. Additionally, the specialist will participate in statewide AHEC Council and planning meetings, and provide planning and support for regional AHEC workshops and other AHEC initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Computer skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Experience in healthcare education and knowledge of adult learning principles preferred

Responsibilities
