About The Position

Lee Pesky Learning Center (LPLC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Education Specialist to join their team. LPLC is a leader in education nonprofits, functioning as a comprehensive training, service, and research center. Founded in 1997, LPLC provides one-on-one intensive intervention to individuals facing obstacles to learning, trains teachers, and supports students in schools and communities. The organization recognizes that obstacles to learning can be multi-faceted and emphasizes the power of prevention. As an Education Specialist, you will be responsible for providing explicit instruction in the core subjects of reading, writing, and math, equipping students with foundational skills for academic success and personal growth. The role offers a chance to be a key player in transforming the educational experience for students who learn differently, utilizing evidence-based methods in a collaborative environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education.
  • Experience working with students with learning and attention challenges.
  • Experience delivering evidence-based intervention in reading, writing, and/or math.
  • Proficiency in using technology for instructional planning and delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 1:1 – In-person and Online: Deliver intervention in-person or online via Zoom.
  • Provide Explicit Instruction in Reading, Writing, and/or Math: Design and deliver individualized intervention in a one-on-one clinical setting.
  • Engage in Formative Assessment: Create intervention plans, set instructional objectives, and utilize progress monitoring to ensure each student is reaching their learning goals.
  • Build Connections: Develop strong connections with students, parents, guardians, and school personnel through frequent communication and mini conferences.
