About The Position

The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is seeking an Education Specialist to join our Education Division. This role supports the administrative management of education meetings and programs, coordinating educational activities for CSWE’s Annual Conference and other events. The position involves managing proposal processes, awards, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programming. It works closely with the Director of Centers and Initiatives and other Division of Education staff to support CSWE members and advance social work education. The role also includes responding to inquiries, general administrative duties, and serving as a staff liaison for CSWE commissions and/or councils.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work education (BSW) or related field is required.
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Knowledge or experience in social work or social work education, particularly in international and diversity issues required.
  • Demonstrates skill in understanding cultural differences.
  • Employs antiracist and anti-oppressive lens in their work.
  • Fluency with MS Office and e-mail applications, comfortable using variety of software application.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse volunteers and volunteer groups.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel approximately 1–3 times annually and work occasional evenings or weekends in connection with conferences, meetings, or other scheduled programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters of Social Work Education (MSW) is preferred.
  • Experience in the Non-Profit or Acadamia sector preferred.
  • Successful track record in a membership organization, collaborative teams, or higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Handle administrative management of annual conference proposal submission, review, and acceptance processes, including electronic proposal system.
  • Assist with education-related awards, including call, reviews, and acceptances.
  • Work with Division of Education team in administering planning, implementation, and evaluation of education meetings and programming; preparing reports, schedules, and communications for a variety of events.
  • Assist with recruitment, selection, and assignment of appropriate proposal reviewers.
  • Respond to public and membership inquiries related to education meetings and programs.
  • General administrative duties, including word processing, emails, filing, organizing.
  • Administer communication and logistics with speakers, CSWE members, and other participants.
  • Independently administer assigned education programs and proposal cycles, resolving routine programmatic issues and escalating matters requiring policy interpretation.
  • Serve as staff liaison for CSWE commissions and/or councils.
  • Other duties as assigned.
