About The Position

Lee Pesky Learning Center (LPLC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Education Specialist to join their team. LPLC is a leader in education nonprofits, functioning as a comprehensive training, service, and research center founded in 1997. The center provides one-on-one intensive intervention to individuals facing obstacles to learning, trains teachers, and supports students in schools and communities. LPLC recognizes that obstacles to learning can be multi-faceted and emphasizes prevention. The Education Specialist will be responsible for providing explicit instruction in reading, writing, and math, equipping students with foundational skills for academic success and personal growth. The role offers a chance to be part of transformative work, utilizing research-based methods in a collaborative environment with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in education.
Experience working with students with learning and attention challenges.
Experience delivering evidence-based intervention in reading, writing, and/or math.
Proficiency in using technology for instructional planning and delivery.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Master’s degree
Special Education experience

Responsibilities

Deliver intervention in-person or online via Zoom.
Design and deliver individualized intervention in a one-on-one clinical setting using explicit instruction in reading, writing, and/or math.
Create intervention plans, set instructional objectives, and utilize progress monitoring to ensure each student is reaching their learning goals.
Develop strong connections with students, parents, guardians, and school personnel through frequent communication and mini conferences.
