About The Position

Collaborate with the teaching team to deliver a high-quality learning environment for a Family Child Interaction Learning (FCIL) program. This role involves supporting the teaching team, implementing lesson plans, coordinating field trips, engaging with families, developing lesson plans, and implementing curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant for children and caregivers. The position also requires safe operation of company vehicles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field and six (6) months of experience working with keiki ages birth through five and their families; OR
• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field and one (1) year of supervised experience working with keiki ages birth through five and their families; OR
• Current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential and one (1) year of supervised experience working with keiki ages birth through five and their families.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe and responsible driving record.
• No convictions of any crime against a child or other vulnerable person.

• Capable of strenuous activities which include loading/unloading of program materials and equipment, washing of vans and mats, set up and break down of program learning centers.
• Requires lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Canva publishing, and virtual meeting platforms.
• Able to troubleshoot computer and internet connectivity issues and assist caregivers when they experience issues.
• Familiarity with databases such as QuickBase.
• Knowledge and understanding of Hawaiian culture and values.

Responsibilities

• Support the teaching team with proper setup and breakdown of site, co-teach lessons, and prepare materials.
• Implement lesson plans, facilitate classroom instruction and learning experiences at program sites.
• Coordinate and schedule monthly field trips, and ensure all required reports are completed and submitted by expected deadlines.
• Model, teach, and engage with enrolled families in a professional manner that encourages caregivers to be their keiki’s first and foremost teacher.
• Facilitate team meetings to develop high-quality, culturally appropriate lesson plans for keiki ages birth-five years old.
• Collaborate with the Curriculum and Development Specialist to implement curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant for children and caregivers.
• Operate assigned company vehicles safely and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Complete all forms and documentation such as reports related to grant objectives, professional development evaluations, and data collection for the program.
