About The Position

The Education Specialist supports Acumed's Medical Education, Sales, Mobile Lab, and Surgical Skills Lab programs by planning and executing educational events, managing cadaver lab operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role partners across multiple departments to deliver high-quality training experiences while overseeing specimen management, lab operations, equipment, and vendor coordination.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Biology, Anatomy, Kinesiology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in lab management, medical education, project coordination, or a related healthcare environment.
  • Experience coordinating complex events, labs, or educational programs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% and work occasional evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with vendors, regulatory requirements, and laboratory safety practices preferred.
  • Medical laboratory or sterile processing certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute bioskills labs, regional education programs, and mobile lab events.
  • Schedule courses, workshops, and lab activities while coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Support cadaver labs through setup, execution, cleanup, and clinical assistance during educational events.
  • Manage tissue specimen procurement, tracking, storage, and disposition while ensuring compliance with AATB, OSHA, and company protocols.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory, capital equipment, PPE, and supplies, including preventative maintenance and vendor coordination.
  • Ensure bioskills lab cleanliness, safety, sterilization, and regulatory compliance.
  • Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including imaging and sterilization systems.
  • Create purchase orders and coordinate vendors to support educational programs and lab operations.
  • Provide clinical and operational support during surgeon education events and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
