Requirements

• Possess an active Illinois PEL with an LBS1 endorsement.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated background as a Special Education professional or comparable position.
• Skilled in supporting learners with a variety of disabilities and educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Elementary instructional classroom with mild behavioral disabilities
• Serve as a strong voice for students with exceptional learning needs.
• Adapt instruction to meet a wide spectrum of learning profiles, skills, and developmental levels.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance students’ academic, social, and personal progress.
• Create and maintain a welcoming, equitable classroom climate where every student is respected and supported.
• Utilize targeted behavior strategies and supportive interventions that encourage positive conduct and emotional well-being.
