Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Valid California Education Specialist Credential: Mild/Moderate Support Needs (with Autism Authorization), or Moderate/Severe / Extensive Support Needs Intern, Preliminary, or Clear Credential required
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in special education settings
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and functional curriculum development
- Strong classroom management, organization and communication skills
- A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse and intensive learning needs
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized instruction tailored to each student's academic, behavioral, and developmental needs
- Create engaging lesson plans and interactive classroom activities that support student learning and growth
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
- Observe and assess student progress, behavior, and social-emotional development
- Collaborate with families, support staff, therapists, and fellow educators to support student success
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide ongoing feedback
- Support students with functional, behavioral, and community-based learning skills
- Participate in professional development opportunities, trainings, seminars, and team collaboration meetings
