About The Position

The Education Specialist II is responsible for proactively identifying and planning for department, laboratory, and work unit education and training needs in collaboration with leadership. This role participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of educational and training programs for medical trainees (residents, fellows, post docs, etc.), students, interns, and allied health staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. The specialist will also participate as clinical education faculty in formal education programs within the Mayo School of Health Sciences (MSHS) as assigned, teaching, training, and mentoring students and other education personnel/employees. Maintaining knowledge and skills in laboratory/work area specialty and in education methodologies is crucial. This position will specifically support Divisional Quality Unit education and training, including the development of a division-wide regulatory training program. Individuals hired for this position are required to complete 2 years in this role before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic.
