About The Position

Responsible for initiating and maintaining education and outreach opportunities supporting the trauma and burn programs within the hospital service area. Serves as an active participant in strengthening existing and forging new partnerships that promote visibility, impact and growth of the trauma and burn education and outreach program. This position will be the primary contact for referral hospitals, EMS agencies and flight services in regards to education and outreach activities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years experience registered nurse with previous trauma care experience
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas, RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO required upon hire
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri, RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO required upon hire
  • Certified Trauma Nurse
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course Instructor. Certification tracked by department leadership. Required 1 Year
  • Advanced Burn Life Support Providers. Certification tracked by department leadership. Required 1 Year
  • Advanced Burn Life Support Instructor required within 2 years of hire.Certification tracked by department leadership. Required
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

  • Previous/Current EMS licensure (EMT, EMT-A or EMT-P) or EMS experience Preferred Upon Hire
  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and coordinates pediatric trauma and burn education opportunities.
  • Identifies and develops pediatric trauma and burn outreach opportunities within the hospital service area.
  • Provides oversight of education requirements for pediatric trauma and burn program within hospital system.
  • Participates in trauma and burn performance improvement and verification activities supporting education and outreach.
  • Supports the verification and site visit process and other duties as assigned.
