About The Position

At OHCAC Head Start, we recognize that 90% of the brain is formed before a child even steps into a kindergarten classroom. As part of the Learning team, your work with preschoolers will provide life-changing solutions to the children and families we serve. We have opportunities in all 4 counties we serve; Marion, Morrow, Crawford, & Richland. The OHCAC Head Start Classrooms provide high-quality care for children during the critical first 2,000 days of life by operating 8 learning centers, serving children birth through five years old, in Marion, Morrow, Crawford, & Richland counties. Because of our high standards, all sites achieved a 5-Star rating on the Step-Up-To-Quality system.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of Driver's Record Check

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children and the effective daily operations according to Head Start and Ohio Department of Child and Youth Licensing Rules.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans and activity effectiveness using the Frogstreet Curriculum.
  • Provide on-site coaching/mentoring in action, enabling staff to observe appropriate child development practices and conscious discipline techniques for improved teacher-child interaction.
  • Provide professional development to support teachers as they implement effective practices that lead to positive outcomes for children.
  • Utilize Practice-Based Coaching, which is a cyclical process for supporting teachers’ use of effective teaching practices that lead to positive outcomes for children.
  • Maintain a positive approach towards staff development through team involvement, developing collaborative teaching communities, and participating and providing in-service training.
  • Communicate while working in conjunction with the Education Supervising Manager to monitor employees’ daily productivity, responsibilities and overall work habits.
