The Education Licensing Specialist II is a vital member of the Licensing Team within the Education Approvals Division at the Agency of Education. This division is responsible for maintaining the integrity of Vermont's education system by overseeing educator standards, preparation programs, independent schools, and licensure. The Licensing Team is a collaborative group dedicated to supporting Vermont educators. We value continuous improvement and work together to ensure that our processes are transparent, efficient, and supportive of the state's goal to provide high-quality education to all students. The Licensing Specialist II focuses on the critical operations of the licensure process. The core mission is to ensure that educators entering or renewing their credentials meet all state requirements, with a heavy emphasis on processing temporary licenses, supporting the licensing system, and coordinating mandatory criminal background checks.
