Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • At least four years of experience in primary/secondary educational and three years supervisory related experience.
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Criminal clearances to include Act 33 and 34, PA State and child clearances and FBI.
  • Non-communicable disease physical exam
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedure, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and precent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer knowledge, emails, and spreadsheets.
  • Valid programs' State specific Department of Education Teaching Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets and implements policies and procedures and state regulations and laws relevant to education and the operation of a privately licensed school.
  • Manage the overall operations of the school to include staff supervision, policy and procedure development, educational activities, and budgeting preparation.
  • Establish and maintain public relations program that results in a cooperative working relationship between the school and external educational agencies.
  • Supervises, assists with hiring, and evaluates staff performance, develops measurable objectives for necessary improvements and implements appropriate corrective action to staff adhering to human resources policies and utilizing Human Resources when necessary.
  • Assist the appropriate administrative staff members to obtain, monitor, budget, and report school finances.
  • Establish and maintain efficient procedures and effective controls for all expenditures of school funds in accordance with the approved budget.
  • Ensure filing of all necessary reports as required by the State's Department of Education.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of quality education curriculum, programs, instructional methodologies, and etc. that are consistent with the assessed individual needs, abilities, and clients' interest.
  • Coordinate and implement with the appropriate training department to develop an annual and professional development plan for all educational staff members.
  • Work with appropriate clinical staff members to assess community and client needs to ensure the integration of treatment processes along with educational processes.
  • Assumes responsibility for monitoring the planning and preparation for school events such as graduation, birthday celebrations, and school theatrical events.
  • Attend staff meetings and conferences.
  • Supports the Abraxas' philosophy and missions and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • May supervise 5-6 teachers and 5-6 teachers aides.
