About The Position

The Education Coordinator will exercise judgment and independence to provide complex administrative assistance in support of Medical Education within the Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology(DMOH) at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Working closely with the Director of Education, physicians in the Division and administrative personnel, and UHN Medical Education, the Education Coordinator will have a number of responsibilities.

Requirements

  • University Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in a health research related and/or educational environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in program administration
  • Experience in event planning and meeting coordination
  • Advanced computer skills with superior knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe
  • Ability to perform under pressure and work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • High level of interpersonal, organizational, prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
  • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
  • Satisfactory attendance record

Responsibilities

  • Fellowship and staff physician scheduling and administration
  • Providing information and support to potential, incoming, and current fellows
  • Coordinating and providing support with meetings/events, including grand rounds
  • Maintaining written and/or electronic calendar/schedules
  • Maintaining and modifying electronic and paper information filing/retrieval systems methods, and/or formats
  • Performing routine budgetary support functions
  • Performing other related clerical activities
  • Performing cross-functional responsibilities, as assigned
  • Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
  • Build relationships with individuals at various levels across the medical community
  • Act as liaison with various groups of stakeholders
  • Assist the DMOH physicians in program-related duties
  • Assist in the preparation of annual reports
  • Co-ordinate activities associated with the preparation of education initiatives
  • Provide administrative assistance with all aspects of the implementation and maintenance of DMOH Education Office
