About The Position

The Education Coordinator plays a central role in creating an engaging and supportive environment for students in the College of Pharmacy (COP). Through planning student events, encouraging community involvement, and promoting the COP's identity, this role builds strong connections with students, student organizations, alumni, and stakeholders to enhance the student experience and support professional development. As the primary liaison between the Office of Student Services (OSS) and professional student organizations, the position involves upholding institutional policies, supporting organization activities, managing budgets, fostering collaboration, and coordinating events that strengthen student engagement and career growth. By translating responsibilities into clear action plans and regularly assessing student needs, the Education Coordinator helps students succeed academically, supports their wellbeing, and fosters a sense of belonging within the COP community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field PLUS three (3) years of experience in event planning, event coordination, and/or project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong event-planning, project-coordination, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and work independently.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field PLUS two (2 ) years of administrative, event planning, event coordination, and/or project management experience.
  • Intermediate-level computer proficiency and the ability to learn new technology quickly.
  • Experience with Workday, SurveyMonkey, and REDCap.
  • Knowledge of UAMS policies and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Office of Student Services and student organizations.
  • Ensure student activities comply with university policies.
  • Review requests for meetings, events, speakers, fundraising activities, and promotional materials.
  • Maintain student organization records, calendars, handbooks, and annual reports.
  • Share information about events, scholarships, employment, and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote College of Pharmacy activities and accomplishments through newsletters, social media, and the website.
  • Plan and coordinate student events, ceremonies, orientations, interviews, career fairs, and other activities.
  • Manage the Student Ambassador Program.
  • Coordinate alumni networking and mentorship opportunities.
  • Maintain and distribute student rosters and class information.
  • Track and report student absences.
  • Coordinate student wellness and community-building activities.
  • Maintain and share student resources.
  • Respond to student questions and connect students with appropriate services.
  • Protect confidential student information.
  • Collect and analyze feedback to improve student programs and activities.
  • Maintain Office of Student Services data and databases.
  • Schedule and coordinate team meetings.
  • Supervise three student workers.
  • Provide professional customer service and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
