About The Position

The Education Coordinator is responsible for maintaining Clinical Education records, coordinating student rotations, assisting in gathering and updating handout materials, corresponding with Nursing Directors regarding staff compliance, assisting in the development and maintenance of hospital-wide departmental orientation manuals, performing general secretarial duties, and assisting in maintaining preparedness for accrediting and regulatory organization site visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience.
  • Prior experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining Clinical Education records, including in-services, educational workshops, annual competencies, skills days, and clinical orientation.
  • Documents completion of educational sessions in the learning management system.
  • Coordinates student rotations, including tracking student documentation and orientation, monitoring and scheduling students in appropriate departments, and facilitating evaluation of the experience by departments.
  • Assists in gathering and updating handout material for Clinical Orientation, Annual Competency In-Services, and other assigned in-services.
  • Responsible for correspondence with Nursing Directors regarding staff compliance (competence, qualifications, etc.), notifying directors of noncompliance, and providing necessary resources.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of hospital-wide departmental orientation manuals, including producing department-specific competencies, skills checklists, and other references.
  • Performs general secretarial duties such as meeting set up and follow-through (agendas, rosters, minutes), sending attendance reminders, answering the telephone, routing calls, taking messages, and maintaining files.
  • Assists in maintaining preparedness for accrediting and regulatory organization site visits.
