About The Position

Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth & Families is a Christ-centered ministry committed to glorifying God by caring for children, youth, and families. Through residential care, educational support, and wraparound services, Black Mountain Home provides a safe and supportive environment where youth can grow academically, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. The Education Coordinator provides leadership and coordination for Black Mountain Home’s learning center and educational support services. This role works closely with youth, House Parents, Residential Services, school personnel, volunteers, and interns to support academic progress, school readiness, and educational advocacy for the children and youth in care. This role also serves as the primary liaison with the school system, represents Black Mountain Home in school-related meetings, manages educational programs and resources, and collaborates with House Parents and Residential Services to address academic needs, school trips, testing, summer school, and higher learning preparation.

  • Current NC Teaching License in appropriate area.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.

  • Experience working with children and youth in an educational, residential, nonprofit, or ministry setting.
