About The Position

The Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) is seeking an Education and Training Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for the development, coordination, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of corporate education and training programs. The Specialist will also serve as the lead administrator for the corporate Learning Management System (LMS), working with leaders and subject matter experts to ensure effective learning opportunities for employees. The ideal candidate is passionate about adult learning, skilled in translating complex requirements into engaging experiences, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Adult Education, Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, or a related discipline
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience developing, delivering, coordinating, and evaluating training programs within a corporate or regulated environment
  • Demonstrated experience administering and supporting a Learning Management System (LMS) and developing SCORM-compliant courses
  • Experience developing instructor-led and e-learning content, including multimedia learning resources
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation
  • Experience interpreting legislation, standards, policies, and compliance requirements and translating them into effective learning solutions
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present information to diverse audiences
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and learning technologies

Nice To Haves

  • Airport, transportation, regulatory, or project management experience is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain education, awareness, certification, and regulatory training programs
  • Develop instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning content, including lesson plans, multimedia presentations, reference guides, procedures, and SCORM-compliant online learning modules
  • Coordinate, deliver, and facilitate classroom, virtual, computer-based, recurrent, and train-the-trainer programs
  • Administer and continuously improve WAA's corporate Learning Management System (LMS), including user support, troubleshooting, reporting, and vendor coordination
  • Develops and implements annual training plans and training intake/requisition processes
  • Coordinate and schedule training, maintain accurate training records, and ensure documentation remains audit ready
  • Monitor training compliance, prepare performance reports, and provide recommendations to improve participation and program effectiveness
  • Evaluate training programs through audits, assessments, incident reviews, and participant feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to ensure training programs remain aligned with legislative requirements, industry standards, and organizational objectives
  • Identify innovative digital learning systems, platforms, and applications such as learning management systems (LMS), applicable AI and/or simulator training equipment and opportunities
  • Support accessibility and accommodation requirements to ensure learning opportunities are inclusive and accessible
  • Contribute to departmental planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned
