About The Position

The Education Aide will provide supervision and operational assistance to ensure camps run safely, smoothly, and efficiently throughout the day. This position supports Education Instructors by supervising campers during lunch periods and assisting during times when additional staff support is needed. Responsibilities include maintaining overall group safety, ensuring accurate head counts for each class, and assisting campers with lunches, restroom breaks, or navigating the campus as needed. This role also supports camp traffic operations, primarily during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Duties include directing parents through the drop-off and pick-up line in a safe and efficient manner, checking campers in and out of their classes when required, and escorting campers to and from vehicles or their designated program areas. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with program operations by setting up and cleaning activity spaces, preparing materials, and supporting Instructors during programs. The position may also assist with light office or organizational tasks such as distributing flyers, collecting waivers, restocking supplies, or preparing crafts and activities. Staff in this role are expected to maintain a positive, friendly, and professional attitude when interacting with campers, families, and team members.

Requirements

  • Must enjoy working with children.
  • Maintain attentive supervision at all times, including regular head counts, situational awareness, and prioritizing camper safety.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient when redirecting behavior and interacting with campers.
  • Ability to assist with traffic direction, including maintaining awareness of moving vehicles and ensuring the safe, efficient flow of campers and families.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to follow direction.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children in a group setting preferred.
  • Prior experience with animals is helpful but not required.
