About The Position

This position assists the teacher with instructional needs as appropriate. The aide will support the preparation, implementation, and data collection for student academic, behavioral, and functional goals, accommodations, and modifications. They will deliver these supports to students with special education services in various group settings or individually, as specified in the IEP. The role also involves assisting with classroom management and behavioral plans, maintaining confidential student records, and performing other duties as assigned, including SHARS duties and personal care as identified in student IEPs.

Requirements

  • Bilingual may be required for respective positions
  • College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
  • College hours 15 or high school diploma or GED (with a passing score of 464 on the ParaPro test) for Non-Title I campus
  • Communicate and work with students
  • Maintain effective working relationships
  • Minimum clerical skills
  • Good physical and emotional condition
  • Work with confidential material
  • Paraprofessional Educational Aide II certificate required once employed
  • Additional Qualification for Title I Campus: College hours, 48 minimum or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accommodations, modifications, and other supports to students with special education services in whole group, small group, or individually, as described in the IEP.
  • Assist teachers with classroom management and behavioral plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain confidential student records.
  • Other SHARS duties as assigned.
  • Provide Personal Care as identified in applicable student IEPs.
