About The Position

Ballotpedia offers a paid Spring 2027 internship program in Editorial or Communications. Interns receive onboarding similar to full-time employees, including training in coding the Ballotpedia website, the organization’s style guide, and methods for preventing and detecting bias. After orientation, interns join the Communications, Editorial, External Relations, or Tech teams and work alongside full-time staff. Editorial interns may join a specific Editorial team and contribute to research, article creation, news and legislative tracking, candidate survey processing, volunteer activities, planning, and data reporting. Communications interns may support social media, email products, external communications, data collection, presentations, media monitoring, research, promotions, influencer relations, video scripts and image sourcing, SEO tagging, and marketing or promotional writing.
