2026-2027 Editorial Fellowship
About The Position
Gulfshore Life seeks an Editorial Fellow for the 2026-2027 term to contribute to the elevation and evolution of their luxury lifestyle publication. Established in 1970, Gulfshore Life covers the people, places, and culture of Southwest Florida, producing 12 annual issues and several special editions. This fellowship is designed for an early-career journalist, recent graduate, or graduate student eager to engage with the Southwest Florida community, exploring topics ranging from dining and arts to conservation initiatives. The role offers a chance to build a portfolio, develop editorial skills, and work alongside experienced editors.
Requirements
- Strong writing skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong media literacy skills
- Strong research skills
- Demonstrated interest in lifestyle topics (dining, arts and culture, design, health and wellness, fashion, philanthropy, nature and recreation)
Nice To Haves
- Previous editorial experience, including internships and positions at college magazines, or comparable experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conceiving and executing a monthly lifestyle publication and special issues.
- Attend editorial meetings and pitch ideas for future issues.
- Research stories and network with community businesses and individuals.
- Produce a weekly internal newsletter with timely leads and Southwest Florida news.
- Fact-check stories for accuracy.
- Help maintain dining and culture section listings.
- Write blog posts for digital platforms.
- Source photography, proofread stories, and perform general administrative duties.
