About The Position

Penguin Random House is offering a 10-week paid, remote internship with its Adult Editorial Nonfiction department in the Christian Publishing division. The internship provides exposure to the publishing process and the broader publishing business through panels, networking events, and employee speaker series. Interns work 28 hours per week at $21 per hour, from June 7, 2027, through August 12, 2027. The position focuses on adult nonfiction titles from Penguin Random House Christian Publishing Group, which publishes across areas including Christian Living, Spiritual Growth, Inspirational, Faith & Culture, and Catholic. The position is remote for candidates residing in the United States who can work primarily on Eastern Time.

Requirements

Must be ready to work full-time on or before June 2028; college enrollment or a degree is not required.
Able to work 28 hours per week throughout the program.
Available and committed to the program dates of June 7, 2027, through August 12, 2027.
Must reside in the United States for the duration of the internship.
Must be over 18 years old.
Interest in adult nonfiction and faith-based Christian publishing.

Responsibilities

Evaluate submissions and write reader’s reports.
Perform backlist and repackaging evaluations.
Attend virtual editorial meetings and provide insights based on personal reading and in response to editors’ submissions.
Support editorial teams with positioning and marketing copy, comparative-title research, sales data, trends, emerging authors, and podcasts.
