The New York Post is seeking an experienced editor for a part-time role (16-24 hours per week) to join their Sunday staff. This position requires a line and assignment editor with a keen eye for detail, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to quickly adapt and enhance breaking copy to fit The Post's distinctive tabloid voice. The editor will be responsible for identifying, assigning, and editing a variety of stories – including impactful, quirky, and scandalous pieces – under tight deadlines for both the website and the Sunday print edition. A key aspect of this role involves providing clear direction to a team of award-winning reporters and in-office journalists. The Sunday team covers local, national, and international news, investigates corruption, exposes hypocrisy, finds unique and humorous stories, and produces both long- and short-form journalism in a bold tabloid style. The New York Post is a major U.S. newspaper by circulation, and its website attracts millions of viewers weekly. The ideal candidate must be capable of handling diverse story types, from brief updates to extensive news features, across a broad range of subjects. Collaboration on world-famous Page 1 headlines is also part of the role.
