About The Position

FOX Sports Digital is looking for an AI Newsroom Editor of Content Distribution to join the editorial team in our Los Angeles office. This role is responsible for driving execution and strategy in editorial content and content distribution, with a particular focus on AI initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and a hands-on doer who can develop macro-level strategies based on insights from data, social listening, competitive analysis, and AI tools, and then execute tactically. This role will support the Manager of Content Distribution in overseeing all O&O content distribution for major sports events and moments, emphasizing FOX, FS1, and league partners, while leveraging technology and AI for insights and efficiencies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in audience engagement in a newsroom environment.
  • Strong interest in and knowledge of sports across verticals.
  • Intense knowledge of FOX Sports properties, shows, and on-air talent.
  • Ability to be flexible and work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Passionate about and proficient in AI tools and emerging technology.
  • Analytical and creative in equal measure.
  • High agility and situational awareness.
  • Leadership through influence, not control.
  • Nimble executor and decisive strategist.
  • Resilient under pressure, opportunistic in chaos.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Set content distribution objectives in alignment with company goals, trends, and audience behavior.
  • Ownership and oversight of FOX Sports Digital’s custom AI Newsroom suite of tools (including but not limited to: automated alerts, metadata, descriptions, and transcription services).
  • Establish and maintain a content roadmap: past learnings → current execution → future opportunities.
  • Identify Small / Medium / Large (S/M/L) content buckets to think deeper, not wider.
  • Master internal and external AI tools (Claude, Automated Alerts Platform, AI Newsroom, Gemini) to streamline processes.
  • Own the content dissemination strategy across channels (alerts, newsletters, syndication partners, internal comms, etc.).
  • Optimize cadence, format, and messaging based on platform algorithms, audience behavior, and content performance data.
  • Set up AI agents to monitor performance and make recommendations.
  • Conduct competitive audits and real-time social listening backed by AI to detect emerging themes and whitespace opportunities.
  • Synthesize data into actionable insights and pivot plans quickly based on what’s resonating.
  • Act as the connective tissue between sports and other teams (social, screening, etc.).
  • Partner with the manager of content distribution and the deputy editor to identify priorities and timelines, ensuring content is optimized for distribution from the start.
  • Fill gaps where needed — can jump in to write copy, edit headlines, edit stories, etc.
  • Provide “bench strength” when fire drills arise, or bandwidth is tight.

Benefits

  • medical/dental/vision
  • insurance
  • a 401(k) plan
  • paid time off
  • other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents
