About The Position

CompanyCam is a simple-to-use photo documentation and productivity app for contractors in commercial and home services industries. It facilitates communication and accountability across a contractor's business, aiming to provide a game-changing experience that builds trust. The Editor at Large role is a senior individual contributor position focused on producing ambitious thought leadership content that advances the thinking of the construction industry, rather than promoting a product. This role combines journalistic rigor, original research, and editorial excellence to establish CompanyCam as a category leader. The position requires producing premium, insight-driven content for mid-market and enterprise audiences, collaborating with Marketing Strategy, Market Analytics, and subject matter experts to uncover industry insights. The ideal candidate is passionate about telling compelling, research-backed stories and creating content that readers want to engage with and share.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in journalism, editorial, long-form content, or thought leadership, with a journalism background strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to research, interview, and write compelling long-form content supported by original research and credible sources
  • Experience translating complex market data, surveys, or research into engaging business narratives
  • Expertise creating premium B2B content such as white papers, benchmark reports, ebooks, and case studies
  • Experience contributing to or leading original research projects, including surveys and customer interviews
  • Strong interviewing, storytelling, and editorial judgment with an ability to uncover meaningful insights
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution while managing multiple large-scale content projects
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate research and content development while maintaining human-led thinking and editorial integrity
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • A continuous growth-mindset, with a focus on learning, embracing challenges, and continuously improving
  • A knack for creativity and innovation, bringing fresh ideas to the table and solving complex problems

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with B2B SaaS, construction technology, or related industries is preferred, with the curiosity and ability to quickly develop deep domain expertise

Responsibilities

  • Research, write, and publish premium thought leadership including white papers, ebooks, benchmark reports, case studies, and webinar content
  • Conduct interviews with customers, industry experts, and internal stakeholders to develop original insights and compelling narratives
  • Partner with Market Analytics to translate proprietary research and data into engaging, data-backed content
  • Develop thought leadership focused on the challenges and opportunities facing mid-market and enterprise customers
  • Support Account-Based Experience (ABX) initiatives through the creation of high-value content offers
  • Collaborate with the Content team to repurpose flagship content across multiple channels and campaigns
  • Leverage AI to improve research, drafting, editing, and content development while maintaining an authentic editorial voice
  • Maintain exceptional editorial standards, ensuring every piece is accurate, insightful, and worth sharing
