About The Position

AlixPartners is hiring an eDiscovery Consultant in a project management role to support its eDiscovery practice. The team helps clients resolve litigation and investigations through data collection and preservation, forensics, processing, early case assessment, hosted and managed review, custom data analytics, technology-assisted review, production, project management, and expert analysis. The role involves managing electronic evidence throughout the eDiscovery lifecycle, developing and implementing protocols, organizing and verifying case-critical data, using industry-standard software, advising clients, and addressing technical and operational challenges. The consultant also communicates with clients and colleagues, reviews work for quality, and trains professional staff. The position may be based in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Boston, Dallas, or Chicago. AlixPartners uses a hybrid work model combining in-person work at a client site or AlixPartners office with remote work. Travel is part of the position, with frequency varying according to client, team, and individual circumstances. Paid relocation is not available. The salary range is $75,000–$100,000 per year, with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related technical field.
At least 2 years of professional eDiscovery experience.
Ability to engage technically and communicate with non-technical clients or audiences.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with high achievers and high client expectations.
Strong project management skills, including balancing multiple tasks, prioritizing work independently, and meeting deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Willingness to work outside normal business hours when project needs arise.
Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment and to sit or stand at a computer and work in front of a screen for significant portions of the workday.

Nice To Haves

Experience and proficiency with Relativity.
Experience with other document review platforms such as Everlaw, Reveal, or DISCO.
Familiarity with one or more of Brainspace, Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic, Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft Access, SQL, Microsoft Exchange, and Lotus Notes/Domino.
Experience working on litigation cases alongside forensic accounting and legal teams.

Responsibilities

Establish and implement eDiscovery lifecycle protocols, including internal standards and best practices for preservation and collection of electronic evidence.
Find, compile, organize, categorize, and verify case-critical data across preservation, collection, processing, review, and production.
Use industry-standard software tools to develop custom solutions for client requirements.
Identify and address client needs and participate in client discussions and meetings.
Advise clients on data collection for large-scale litigation, including document retention and chain-of-custody procedures.
Create and manage large data sets.
Use a problem-solving approach to address unexpected technical and operational challenges.
Ensure clients’ electronic files are accessible for potential litigation.
Communicate with clients and colleagues orally and in writing, including drafting reports and client presentations.
Perform quality control reviews of work product.
Train other professional staff.
