About The Position

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (AZ Blue) is seeking EDI Technical Analysts of all experience levels to join their award-winning team. This is a hybrid work opportunity for Arizona residents, requiring residency within the State of Arizona. In this full-time role, the analyst will support Trading Partner EDI and flat files by developing documentation, analyzing data and system processes, testing files and applications, and providing end-user support and training. The position offers flexibility to work remotely 4 days a week and spend 1 day a week at the Phoenix campus. In-office requirements are subject to change based on organizational need.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED in a general field of study required for all levels.
  • Level 1: 1 year of college-level coursework in system requirements design and interpretation and/or support of production systems.
  • Level 1: 2 years of EDI experience.
  • Levels 2–4: 3 years of experience in computer technology and/or information systems.
  • Levels 2–4: 2 years of experience in data analysis, data management and integration, extracting, and analysis reporting.
  • Intermediate PC proficiency and intermediate proficiency in spreadsheet, database, flow charting, and word processing software.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data mapping techniques, data analysis software, computer operating systems, Microsoft Applications and Suites, Windows Server, and Microsoft SQL databases.

Responsibilities

  • Track, research, analyze, and resolve production problems related to EDI, files, applications, and related processes.
  • Develop business objectives, processing requirements, technical specifications, functional specifications, logic flows, and mapping documents.
  • Analyze files and map data between systems; write SQL queries needed for production support, testing, and reporting.
  • Use tools such as Splunk and App Insights to review logging results and troubleshoot processing issues.
  • Develop test data and test files, process test files, analyze results, document outcomes, log defects, and support regression testing.
  • Assist with root cause analysis, defect triage, traceability, and defect review meetings.
  • Support technical and data-centered research required to produce and test Trading Partner files, including applying TR3, CORE CAQH, and Blue Exchange rules.
  • Work with IT Infrastructure to develop and implement production monitoring for APIs, data loads, Trading Partner transactions, and other critical processes.
  • Participate in or lead projects by creating project plans, estimates, schedules, presentations, priority lists, and ad hoc reports.
  • At senior and lead levels, mentor peers, serve as a subject matter expert, lead complex technical projects, and help ensure service level agreements are met.
