About The Position

PLS Logistics Services is seeking an experienced IT EDI Integration / Mapping Specialist to join our Information Technology team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting EDI/B2B integration solutions connecting PLS with external trading partners, including customers, suppliers, and carriers. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, EDI standards, integration technologies, and transportation/logistics processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled professional to play a key role in supporting and advancing PLS's EDI and B2B integration environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Logistics Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience with EDI/B2B solutions, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Master's degree in a related field may be considered in place of some required experience.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator / Sterling B2Bi, including experience with Sterling upgrades.
  • Strong understanding of EDI standards, including ANSI X12 and EDIFACT.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, implementation, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Strong understanding of IBM Sterling B2B Integrator business processes, including BPML, GPM, JDBC, and code lists.
  • Strong knowledge of Sterling Map Editor.
  • Experience working with XML/XSLT, delimited files, and fixed-length flat-file structures.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Experience with databases, including MS SQL Server.
  • Strong understanding of integration and communication protocols, including AS2, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, FTPS, OFTP, SOAP, and Web Services.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical and business teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within the transportation, logistics, freight, or supply chain industry.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Understanding of transportation EDI transactions and processes, including load tenders/bookings, shipment status updates, and invoicing.
  • Experience with API integrations.
  • Experience with AI technologies or AI-enabled solutions.
  • Experience with database integration and SQL.
  • Experience leading small-scale technical projects or coordinating delivery across multiple IT teams.
  • Experience supporting or upgrading IBM Sterling B2B Integrator environments.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective EDI/B2B integration solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and support EDI maps and B2B integration solutions.
  • Work closely with Solutions Owners, Solutions Analysts, Business Owners, customers, and other IT teams to deliver solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Implement EDI/B2B solutions within IT projects while following established technical standards, architecture, and guidelines.
  • Review, manage, and support detailed technical designs for new EDI/B2B requests, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Configure and support trading partners, business processes, communication protocols, and EDI systems.
  • Establish and maintain communication connections using AS2, FTP, SFTP, FTPS, HTTP/HTTPS, OFTP, SOAP, and Web Services.
  • Troubleshoot integration and application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and develop effective solutions.
  • Support and maintain reliable EDI/B2B services in accordance with established service levels, schedules, and business requirements.
  • Define delivery schedules and ensure assigned technical deliverables are completed according to plan.
  • Coordinate delivery and implementation activities across multiple IT teams.
  • Lead small-scale internal IT projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and overall integration design.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance during solution design and development activities.
  • Contribute to technology enhancements and the ongoing development, testing, and deployment of EDI/B2B solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging integration technologies and contribute to the evolution of the organization's integration environment.
