About The Position

This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of the Phoenix, Arizona campus. On-site requirement is 2 full weeks on-site and 1 full week at home. The Executive Development & International Financial Specialist (EDIFS) acts as a liaison between Mayo Clinic and patients meeting criteria for EDI services. The EDIFS is responsible for coordinating, facilitating and overseeing the patient experience and performing related administrative tasks. The EDIFS assists all EDI patients with billing, insurance and coverage issues, authorization, and financial concerns. This position is responsible for helping all EDI patients understand their financial obligations and provide a mechanism of support for the EDI patient population, prior to, during and following medical care. This role requires adherence to quality assurance guidelines as well as established productivity standards to support the work unit’s performance expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience OR High School diploma and 6+ years’ experience in finance, customer service, communication, concierge services, or related field
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Superior written communication skills
  • Intermediate computer/keyboarding and mathematic skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications
  • Phone etiquette and customer service and call handling skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a complex and patient-centered environment

  • Self-directed and highly organized

Nice To Haves

  • Multilingual candidates, fluent in Spanish, Hmong, Arabic, or other languages preferred.
  • Experience providing concierge-level customer service to international patients preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience using an Epic RC/EMR system is preferred.
  • Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification Preferred.
