About The Position

Snap-on Incorporated is seeking an experienced EDI B2Bi Developer to join their team. This role involves analyzing and developing technical specifications for Supply Chain Logistics and Data Integration software applications for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions with various Trading Partners. The developer will utilize tools such as IBM Sterling Integrator, Data mapping, Graphical Process Modeler (GPM), and Business Process Modeling Language (BPML). Key responsibilities include gathering business requirements, creating EDI mapping specifications for integration with ERP systems, monitoring data volume and network resources, testing data flows, and collaborating with team members and stakeholders. The role also involves creating Trading Partner Profiles, developing custom data extracts and transformations, installing and configuring communication protocols (FTP, SFTP, AS2), ensuring document processing, and monitoring transaction flow. Experience with specific EDI standards (X12 and EDIFACT) and PGP scripting is essential.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • 6 years of combined experience coordinating with Business Partners and External Trading Partners to identify the requirements for the electronic data related to inbound and outbound data flows.
  • 6 years of combined experience with electronic commerce concepts, standards, and architectures (for example: ANSI ASC X12, UN/EDIFACT, and XML).
  • 6 years of combined experience in IBM Value-Added Networks (VAN).
  • 6 years of combined experience modifying existing software application, patch installation, daily maintenance, and upgrading to newer versions of IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.
  • 6 years of experience configuring Sterling B2B Integrator to interface with multiple software applications.
  • 6 years of combined experience migrating existing Business Flows and data maps to be compatible with the latest upgrades.
  • 6 years of combined experience identifying optimum performance statistics and health check.
  • 6 years of experience creating Business Process Flows, including process documents for routing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data using Graphical Process Modeler (GPM) and Business Process Modeling Language (BPML) within Sterling B2B Integrator.
  • 6 years of combined experience designing, developing, and implementing solutions based on standards and processes that establish consistency across the enterprise data, reduce risks, and promote efficiencies in support of the organizational goals and objectives.
  • 6 years of combined experience designing, configuring, and testing integration maps for EDI Transactions.
  • 6 years of combined experience in analyzing, developing, and testing EACH of the following US X12 Standards: 850, 855, 856, 860, and 810.
  • 6 years of combined experience in analyzing, developing, and testing EACH of the following EMEA Edifact Standards: ORDER, INVOIC, AND DESADV.
  • 6 years of combined experience developing PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) scripts and processes with IBM Sterling Integrator.
  • 6 years of combined experience using EACH of the following file transfer tools: FTP, STFP, HTTP, and JDBC.
  • 6 years of combined experience in troubleshooting to resolve content issues, communication disrupts, and document issues with root cause to reduce troubleshooting time with future incidents.
  • 6 years of combined experience triaging Incidents and requesting services on Jira to provide resolutions to customers.
  • Must reside within commuting distance from the employer's Pleasant Prairie, WI office.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop technical specifications for Supply chain logistics and Data Integration software applications for the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions for various Trading Partners using IBM Sterling Integrator, Data mapping, Graphical Process Modeler (GPM), and Business Process Modeling Language (BPML).
  • Gather Business requirements and articulate them into EDI mapping requirement specifications for integration with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), making changes to Mapping Requirements Specification (MRS) according to business requirements.
  • Monitor the volume of data and complexity of the network resources.
  • Test the data flows with internal system and external entities to confirm the integrity of the migrated system.
  • Collaborate with team members, business users, and customers to develop both high level and detailed application models that meet the business needs.
  • Create Trading Partner Profiles in Sterling B2B Integrator and create both inbound and outbound relationships that define the maps and communication protocols to be used.
  • Develop custom Data Extracts and Transformations using Sterling Map Editor, User Exists, and Unix Shell Scripts.
  • Install and configure communication protocol setups for File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), and Applicability Statement 2 (AS2).
  • Responsible for ensuring all inbound and outbound documents are processed through all stages of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
  • Monitor receiving and sending of transactions both to external entities and internal middleware and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
