About The Position

This job profile is for faculty members hired to complete a short-term and/or part-time academic work assignment, such as teaching one or more courses for one or two academic terms. Wage Faculty (Adjunct) may only be paid via Period Activity Pay. The University of Virginia's School of Education seeks qualified applicants for the Department of Human Services to teach and provide content expertise for programs in Counselor Education for the 2026-2027 academic year and 2027 summer. Positions will be filled on an as-needed basis according to curriculum needs and appointments are typically for teaching a single course. This is an at-will faculty wage position that does not carry benefits. Opportunities may be available on-grounds at the University of Virginia and online. If no position is currently available, we will retain submitted applications on file for future consideration during the 2026-2027 academic year and 2027 summer. This position will not sponsor applicants for work visas. Faculty wage employment is usually less than 0.5 FTE (teaching fewer than 6 credits or the equivalent of no more than 19 hours per week); is offered for only one or two semesters at a time; and applies to faculty members paid solely via Period Activity Pay. Wage Faculty (Adjunct) positions come with no expectation of renewal, and are not eligible for leave or other benefits.
