About The Position
PDS Optical is seeking a dependable, results-driven Edging Technician for its optical laboratory. This entry-level, full-time position operates optical manufacturing equipment to edge, cut, or grind lenses and mark measurements to ensure proper fit and segment height in selected frames. On-the-job training is provided; optical or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required. The role is based in the Edging Department of an optical laboratory in a production/manufacturing setting. The environment can be warm and somewhat loud, and the job involves working in close proximity to a diverse group of coworkers. The stated schedule is 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, with a starting wage of $18.00 per hour. Employees receive a free pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities
- Operate edging machines in the laboratory.
- Read work tickets to determine edge specifications.
- Properly scan trays in the assigned area.
- Prepare frames by removing screws when necessary.
- Prepare jobs requiring specified bevel and polish edges.
- Perform light inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of machines to ensure proper operation.
- Monitor machines for problems or issues.
- Monitor the correct flow of HSE automatic edgers and address errors and stoppages as they occur.
