About The Position

Eaton is seeking an Edge Offer Manager to define and drive the enterprise technology roadmap for connected hardware and edge computing capabilities across our portfolio. This position can be based at one of our offices in Beachwood, OH, Menomonee Falls, WI, Moon Township, PA, or Raleigh, NC. Candidates must be based in one of these locations as relocation assistance is not available. Some travel is expected (10-25%). Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. This Offer Manager will manage the enterprise technology roadmap for Brightlayer Edge and Brightlayer Ready to enable secure, scalable, and reusable connected hardware and edge compute capabilities across Eaton’s electrical infrastructure portfolio while incorporating third party equipment into the edge compute strategy. This role sits at the intersection of physical products, embedded software, edge platforms, and software connectivity. The Edge Offer Manager is responsible for ensuring that our devices, systems, and software deliver secure, scalable, and differentiated edge capabilities that support enterprise use cases such as monitoring, control, analytics, resilience, and AI enabled operations. This role is responsible for defining how Eaton devices, systems, and controllers participate in the Brightlayer ecosystem, from embedded connectivity and edge compute through local analytics and secure software integration. The Edge Offer Manager ensures that Brightlayer delivers consistent edge capabilities that can be leveraged across use cases in Data Centers, Industrial, and Utilities.

  • Proven experience delivering connected products, embedded systems, or edge platforms in industrial or infrastructure environments.
  • For candidates in the US: Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • Strong understanding of edge computing, device to cloud architectures, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, multi business enterprise.
  • Strong technical fluency and credibility with engineering, architecture, and cybersecurity teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electrical infrastructure, power systems, data centers, or industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with EPMS, DCIM, BMS, SCADA, or OT systems.
  • Experience defining secure device lifecycle management in regulated or safety critical environments.
  • Exposure to edge analytics or AI enabled industrial use cases.
  • Experience working with or integrating into enterprise digital platforms.
  • Experience within a multinational organization and working across global time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Brightlayer Edge technology roadmap, aligned with Eaton’s digital and hardware product strategies.
  • Define how connected hardware, edge software, and cloud services work together within the Brightlayer architecture.
  • Establish a clear point of view on what runs at the edge vs. in software (on-prem or cloud), and why, across various use cases.
  • Define and evolve core Brightlayer Edge capabilities, including: Device connectivity and industrial protocols (e.g., MQTT, Modbus, OPC UA, IEC standards) along with UNS, device models, semantics, eClass capabilites; Secure device onboarding, identity, and lifecycle management; Local data normalization, buffering, and rules execution; Edge analytics and event processing; Edge AI / ML inference (where appropriate for power and industrial use cases).
  • Partner with hardware and firmware teams to ensure new Eaton products are Brightlayer Ready by design.
  • Work closely with Brightlayer architecture, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to translate product strategy into reference architectures and platform components.
  • Drive alignment across Brightlayer domains (Edge, Connectivity, Cloud, Applications) to reduce fragmentation.
  • Ensure edge capabilities meet OT reliability, latency, and security requirements, not just IT expectations.
  • Act as the single owner for edge capabilities used by multiple Eaton businesses.
  • Collaborate with product teams across EPMS, DCIM, Power, Energy, Predictive Maintenance, and Industrial solutions to understand needs and drive common solutions.
  • Balance enterprise standardization with flexibility for business specific requirements.
  • Translate customer and field feedback into edge requirements grounded in real operational constraints (power continuity, optimization, safety, cybersecurity, air gapped environments).
  • Monitor competitive and adjacent ecosystems (industrial IoT platforms, edge vendors, hyperscaler edge offerings).
  • Ensure Brightlayer Edge capabilities support Eaton’s outcome based value propositions (resilience, efficiency, safety, sustainability).
  • Own epics and capability backlogs for Brightlayer Edge.
  • Partner with program management and engineering to ensure roadmap execution and dependency management.
  • Define and track success metrics such as: Adoption of Brightlayer Edge across product lines; Reuse of edge components vs. bespoke implementations; Time to market improvement for connected products; Reliability, performance, and security posture at the edge.
