About The Position

The Unit Service Technician provides a broad range of care and services to patients, including but not to limited to EKG, phlebotomy, equipment cleaning, and stocking of rooms under the supervision of a licensed nurse. They perform a wide range of secretarial duties, including but not to limited to organizing paperwork, answering the phone, paging, and receiving of Emergency Department patients into the medi-tech computer system. They will provide safe accurate transportation of patients throughout the hospital. They will perform 1:1 sitting when necessary. The Unit Service Technician of the Emergency Department will also assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Certified Nurse Aide [CNA] - State Specific Certification Board required or Emergency Medical Technician [EMT License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant in an Emergency setting preferred
  • 1 year experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant preferred in ICU
  • Experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant preferred in OPIC, Perioperative, IV Therapy
  • Staff adheres to all C.A.R.E. Standards
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, often stressful environment.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to set and reset priorities.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast passed critical care environment.

Responsibilities
