About The Position

The ED Tech participates in basic nursing care for patients from admission through discharge and performs non-nursing functions in the Emergency Department. These functions include CNA duties, performing EKGs, keeping ED rooms clean and stocked, clerical work, answering phones, and appropriately relaying messages. ED Techs are also trained to act as patient advocates, performing clerical duties such as patient intake registration, chart maintenance, and patient satisfaction callbacks. The position is responsible to the Emergency Department nurses, physician, and ED manager. The work requires computer use, typing, reading, and writing, as well as frequent lifting, moving, standing, and transferring patients or residents. Other related duties and activities may also be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Active CNA, CMA, or EMT certification in the State of Georgia.
• Ability to use a computer and perform typing, reading, and writing tasks.
• Ability to frequently lift, move, stand, and transfer patients or residents.

Nice To Haves

• Emergency Department experience preferred.
