This full-time Emergency Department Technician position at Aurora West Allis Medical Center involves assisting physicians and registered nurses in providing technical patient care within the Emergency Department. The role includes performing various medical procedures such as phlebotomy, patient transport, cardiac and vital sign monitoring, wound care, Foley catheter insertion, and lab specimen collection. The technician is also responsible for documenting information, communicating patient observations, processing charges through the Electronic Health Record (EHR), facilitating communications with physicians and other systems, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Monitoring and troubleshooting equipment are also key duties. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles across the lifespan, and assessing patient-specific needs.
