About The Position

The Emergency Department Technician is responsible for assisting medical providers and nursing staff with routine treatment and care of patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, state and federal regulations. Duties will vary based on the patient, the technician’s tier level, and may include the following: gathering medical information, measuring vital signs, treating wounds, transporting patients, drawing blood, and other technical functions under the direction of a physician or RN. The technician also documents and relays care information and observations and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Hours/Shifts Day/night, 12-hour shifts, every third weekend, 48 hours biweekly. Compensation If unlicensed, the pay range is $17.48-$24.09/hour. The pay range for CNA licensed hires is $18.48-$25.09/hour. The pay range for EMT licensed hires is $19.48-$26.09/hour. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Requirements

  • Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
  • Must be able to attend the work site per schedule.
  • ED Tech I: High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • ED Tech II: Certified Nursing Assistant required.
  • ED Tech III: EMT required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with mentally ill and dually diagnosed populations is preferred.
