About The Position

Royse City ER & Hospital is seeking a dedicated ED Registered Nurse (FT), crucial in providing immediate and comprehensive care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions or emergencies. This role involves patient assessment, triage, emergency care, medication administration, supervision of support staff, patient advocacy, collaboration with healthcare teams, and maintaining infection control standards. The position also requires participation in ongoing training and professional development.

Requirements

• Two years of emergency room experience.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Licensure with the State Board of Nurse Examiners for their state.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate compassion and understanding while dealing with patients in crisis.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in emergencies.

Nice To Haves

• Current BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC preferred
• Educational requirements appropriate for meeting the age-specific needs of patients presenting to the emergency center, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, including emergency procedures required for stabilizing patients of all ages.
• Validate clinical skills outlined in the orientation checklist and maintain annual clinical competency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough head-to-toe assessments and psychosocial evaluations of patients when they arrive, determining the severity of their condition.
• Assign triage categories to ensure timely care based on the urgency of each patient's condition.
• Provide care to patients of all ages, including neonates, children, adults, and geriatrics, following established protocols and guidelines.
• Administer medications accurately while adhering to the five rights of medication administration (right patient, right medication, right dose, right route, right time).
• Oversee the work of support staff such as Emergency Room Technicians (ERTs) and other healthcare personnel, ensuring a collaborative and efficient workflow.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining procedures and treatment plans to provide emotional support and education.
• Work closely with physicians and other healthcare staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment to prevent infection and promote patient safety.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities, attending staff meetings, and engaging in quality improvement initiatives.
